We like to think of Albarino as like a Spainish Sancerre; crisp, elegant, lively citrus fruit, a hint of aromatics and beautiful minerality. This is a perfect example of Albarino from this beautiful Atlantic- region.
The small but brilliantly run cellar was established in 1920, Ernesto Zarate was pivotal in promoting Albario in the area. Current winemaker Eulogio Pomares (Ernestos grandson) has started to work organically, he uses shells and seaweed from the coastline to enrich the soils naturally. In the cellar he is low intervention and his wines are characterised by their Atlantic freshness and age-worthiness.
