Skin contact Moscatel here from Casa Balaguer and its a very fine orange wine indeed. Moscatel is naturally highly aromatic, and this gives the wine floral and lychee aromatics - but that's not it. The wine is fermented on skins for 30 days, then aged in amphora under a layer of flor, giving the wine intense salty minerals and a savoury, herbal, edge. Utterly unique and truly delicious, this is mesmerising stuff from Casa Balaguer. Enjoy with paella, biryani, pad thai.
