Natural orange wine from one of Italy most exciting young projects.
Here, Giuseppe and Kyriaki are working with Malvasia di Candia - a rare off-shoot of Malvasia. It's full of orange zest, spice, and floral notes - with a little touch of the wild side coming through.
This is a relatively new project from Giuseppe Amato & Kyriaki Kalimeri. They bought their first vineyards in 2015, off the internet, from the Italian version of Gumtree! They bought half a hectare of shabby & abandoned Nebbiolo, and have been adding to that ever since.
At the heart of the project lies an experimental nature, with new cuvees released each year and some wines not being made more than once. Giuseppe seems to be a master of these piedmont varieties even at this young stage in his winemaking life, making exciting and intriguing wines that lie outside of the mould of traditional Piedmont wines.
