Pergolas Criollas Blancas, Cara Sur
Pergolas Criollas Blancas, Cara Sur, Cellar Next Door
Pergolas Criollas Blancas is a distinctive white blend from Cara Sur, hailing from the high-altitude vineyards of the Calingasta Valley in San Juan, Argentina. This wine is crafted from a mix of white Criolla varietals, predominantly Torrontés Sanjuanino and Mendocino, sourced from family-owned vineyards planted between 1920 and 1970 at elevations ranging from 4,900 to 5,700 feet.
In the glass, it presents a pale, slightly cloudy appearance due to its unfiltered nature. The nose is greeted with enticing floral aromas, notably chamomile, interwoven with notes of salted pears and ripe white fruits. On the palate, it is juicy and smooth, with vibrant acidity and a firm texture, leading to a refreshing and mineral-driven finish
Cara Sur, established in 2011, is dedicated to reviving ancestral vines and producing wines from traditional Argentine varietals. Their commitment to minimal intervention winemaking and sustainable farming practices results in unique expressions that reflect the terroir of the Calingasta Valley.
