Rising star Stephane Riffault has taken the reigns of the family Domaine and is fast becoming one of the most talked-about names in the region. Not content with the simple and fresh styles, so commonly associated with Sancerre, Stphane is moving toward longer ageing and using a combination of cement and old wood barrels to raise the wines, rather than the stainless steel his father employed. The results are wines that have more texture, and more depth and complexity.
