Almate Tempranillo, Alfredo Maestro, 2022

One of our favourite discoveries from the recent past is this incredible value red from Alfredo Maestro. Full of rich ripe fruit, but also with a juicy, succulent texture, this wine really over-delivers. The vineyards are in the appellation of Ribera del Duero one of Spains highest rated vineyards, but Alfredo doesnt enjoy the politics so he has declassified the wine to the supposedly lower designation of regional Castilla y Leon, which affords him more freedom, and less rules to follow.  Were all for it! Decant for half an hour before serving.
