Collection: D.B Schimtt

The Schmitt winery has been in the family for over 230 years. Its latest incarnation is run by Bianka and Daniel, who have worked their 16 hectares for the last decade. Their work is fully biodynamic, which they learned from legendary Alsace vigneron Patrick Meyer, and they are one of only 80 producers in Germany to be certified by Demeter.

Bianka is from Hungary, whilst Daniel is the heir to the estate. They met in 2012 when she was a cellar hand in his parent’s winery & together, they have taken over the family winery and are producing excellent natural wines made without additions.

They make a range of exciting cuvées & are definitely at the forefront of the new wave of producers emanating out of the Rheinhessen.
