One of my all-time favourite vineyard visits was to the home and winery of Danilo Marcucci, proprietor at Conestabile della Staffa. The vineyards are effortlessly beautiful, all farmed completely organically with abundant life and soul teeming through the fields. The wines are the epitome of natural - with the grapes left to ferment naturally in neutral containers until they are ready in spring. Nothing added, nothing taken away.
