Marlborough has made a name for itself as a home of great quality Pinot Noir. Although arguably it's all imbibed a little too young and the wines perhaps don't have the time to mature and really show themselves. Well, here we have a 2015 Pinot from one of the masters of Malborough Pinot, Mike Paterson, formerly head winemaker at Jackson Estate. There's a core of ripe red fruit, giving way to earthy and savoury notes from bottle age, a succulent texture, and fine-grained tannin.
