Khikhvi is an ancient Georgian grape variety produced in the traditional Georgian Qvevri, giant clay vessels burried underground. Its a gorgeous wine full of ripe stone fruits and floral aromatics. 

Tasting with Ivane, was the highlight of our trip to Georgia, the wines were all so delicious and expressive that it was hard not to fall in love with them all.

Ivane has been making wine for over 25 years and has a wealth of experience from winemaking both in Georgia and across Italy. After returning to his home village of Velistsikhe, Kakheti, he set up Qvevri Wine Cellars to focus on local grape varieties and traditional production methods. This is world-class natural winemaking informed by extraordinary skill, attention to detail, and a wealth of experience.
