This is perfect Lirac an appellation in the Southern Rhone, just next to Chateauneuf du Pape. The best spots in the region can produce wines just as powerful and as complex as Chateuneuf, but without the heavy price-tag. Plus, weve stumbled across a parcel from 2017 which has developed beautifully, and its tasting phenomenal right now.
Grenache leads the charge in the blend here giving rich, ripe aromas of strawberry fruit, macerated cherries, thyme, and lavender. Theres also a serious side to the wine, with some earthy, meaty notes coming from the Syrah, that really open up with time in the glass.
Marine took over the Domaine from her father and subsequently converted the Domaine to organics. They have been certified organic since 2000 and biodynamic since 2011.
