Clos du Roy is Marsany's best site producing this powerful rendition of Pinot Noir.
Charasmatic winemaker Sylvain Pataille crafts extremely well regarded Pinot Noir in the exceptionally unfashionable appellation of Marsanny. Prices in Burgundy are getting pretty silly with worldwide demand putting pressure on finite supply. So, looking to the unfavourable parts makes sense. And now there's a small cohort of exceptional winemakers in Marsanny starting to make waves in this region with wines to match the great vineyards of Burgundy. Think of this as the wine equivalent of buying a flat in Peckham ten years ago. They are very fine wines and are a relative (we're in Burgundy after all) Bargain.
