Morgon 'Athanor', Jean Foillard, 2015
Morgon 'Athanor', Jean Foillard, 2015, Jean Foillard
2015 Athenor – these are the same vines that usually go into the 3.14 Cuvee – but in 2015 the grapes were so ripe, that Foilard bottled it under a one-off label to reflect the vintage.
Athenor, meaning an "alchemist's oven", reflects the intensity and power of the wine, seldom seen in this part of the world.
Completely unique, vanishingly rare, and from one of the all-time greats in Beaujolais. A true one-off, and a wine that will be able to age for a decade or more.
