Murdoch Hill is relatively new to the winemaking game but the estate is our hot-tip for future super-star status.

The Pinot is so soft and inviting, with sumptuous strawberry fruits, dried flowers, white pepper and spices. The palate is silky and smooth – with seemingly effortless elegance.

Based in the Adelaide hills, the Downer family have been farming in this region for four generations, starting out in 1939 with livestock farming. Fast-forward to 1998 and the family decided to plant vines. Michael downer now holds the reigns and having worked at some of the world's greatest wineries, the property is in very good hands indeed.

    Excellent service and excellent wines. I wanted a selection of six wines and asked Peckham Cellars to make the choice for me based on a price range. The wines were all superb and unique in that they were from small suppliers that I personally would have no knowledge of. If you want something different at your next dinner / party then I can't recommend these guys enough.
