What a wine! This is one of our favourite recent discoveries from Alsace.
This is blend of all the Pinot varieties grown on the estate. The blend of different plots and soils gives a rich, expressive wine, that is such a joy to drink. It's complex, structured and yet fresh with notes of green apple, lemon, acacia honey and ginger.
Part of the Pinot Gris was harvested from two Grand Cru plots in Kaefferkopf on granite and marly-limestoney soils. Then assembled with the others Pinots from more clayey soils on the outskirts of the village of Amerschwihr.
Arnaud  and Aurelie Geschickt are responsible for operations at Domaine Geschickt. The vineyards have been farmed organically, following biodynamic practices since 1993, receiving both Demeter and EcoCert certifications by 1998.  Their forward-thinking and meticulous approach in the vineyards and cellar translates into wines that show impressive mineral depth, length and energy.
