Thierry Navarre works in the Languedoc in a relatively traditional application called St Chinian. Here he makes rich, expressive reds that are hearty fare, and pair very well with the region's traditionally rich food. However, with this wine we have something different altogether. This is made from a grape variety so rare that according to the UK importer, there are only three winemakers working this variety and only seven hectares exist.
It’s light, floral, with a delicate spice and soft tannin. It grows high up in the sheltered slate hillsides where the soil and the cooler climate impart freshness, a delicate nature and a lovely line of minerality. Thierry farms organically and produces only 2000 bottles a year of this wine.
