Poster child for new-wave of Spanish Rioja, bodegas Artuke are proving that great Rioja is made in the vineyards, and not produced in the winery.

These wines are full of vibrant fruit - we get focused, pure red-fruit character, with lots of pretty detail. On the palate its a more serious affair, with lovely structure, fine-grained tannins and supreme elegance. Theres a touch of oak adding just a dash of complexity, but its completely finessed into the wine - think of it as judicious seasoning to the perfect fruit.

Los Locos is produced from a single vineyard in Rioja Alevesa (the highest, coolest, part of Rioja), where the Soils are gravel and sand over limestone. 80% Tempranillo with 18% Graciano and 2% Viura. The wine is in conversion to Organics and will be certified from the 2021 vintage.
