Fruili in northeast Italy is not a wine region on everyone’s lips – yet the region produces some incredible wines, and its white wines are particularly well prized.
Here we have the Sauvignon from the area. While classic French Sauvignon Blanc is all about freshness and elegance, here we get the more serious side of Sauvignon, with a bit more texture and weight to it. There are classic aromas of gooseberry and citrus, and a lovely waxy texture all rounded off by fresh minerality from the Ponca soils.
Would pair beautifully with a goat's cheese salad on a warm summer afternoon.
