The Vinhas Velhas is such a perfect wine - theres richness and flavour, but not a hint of heaviness or weight. Its all drama, but with elegance; all power, but with grace. In many ways this is reminiscent of a top Cru Morgon, albeit with a sunshine kiss.

The grapes here are Baga, Jaen and Tinta Amarela, from super-old vines. Theres a 10 day gentle maceration before extended ageing in old oak barrels of various sizes. No fining or additions save for a tiny dash of sulphur at bottling.

These wines are future classics in the making.
